“Something’s telling me it might be you!” (If you’re a fan of the movie, you know the theme song from the soundtrack.) The pop culture classic of the 80s Tootsie is making its way to the musical stage. The laugh-out-loud love letter to the theater tells the story of Michael Dorsey, a talented but difficult actor who struggles to find work until one show-stopping act of desperation lands him the role of a lifetime.
Featuring a hilarious Tony-winning book by Robert Horn and an outrageously clever score by 2018 Tony-winner David Yazbek, critics have called the new musical “a joyful delight” that’s “so packed with punchlines, it should be called a jokebox musical!”
Sidenote: We saw the show last week and it was sweet, hilarious and just plain fun! The audience was laughing non-stop, including us. It’s a fresh twist on the movie for today’s world. We loved it!
