Penny-pinching parents (and bargain hunters everywhere) know that good financial habits start at a young age. It’s important to show kids the benefits of budgeting and saving money — “A penny saved is a penny earned!” And the only bank in the world just for kids, Young Americans Bank, is turning 35. (It’s never too early to open a savings account!)
The “youthful” financial institution is celebrating three and half decades of teaching young people to be financially smart with its 35th Birthday Bash.
The celebration will be packed full of family-friendly activities including a cash cube/money booth and airbrush temporary tattoos at the bank’s Cherry Creek location (3550 E. 1st Ave.) in Denver.
And, at its Belmar location (401 S. Pierce St.) in Lakewood, there will be a prize wheel, pop-its and snow cones.
Both locations will celebrate with games, goodie bags, birthday cake, popcorn and other treats, as well as a chance for kids to win money for their Young Americans Bank account.
The financial fun takes place on Saturday, August 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at both branches.
